Best Base in Storage Hunters Roblox: Plot & Second Floor
Updated 2026-09-02 ยท Roblox Storage Hunters: Open World
Your "base" or "house" in Storage Hunters: Open World is the plot that holds your Player Shop. There is no separate house to buy: every player gets one plot, and everything you build sits on it. The best base is not a fixed design. It is the plot that has been expanded (all 30 tiles, 1,890 ๐ total), has its Plot Capacity raised toward the 1,700 item cap, uses the Second Floor upgrade (250 ๐) for a double-storey shop, and displays 3 Gavel Trophies (4 with the Extra Gavel Trophy pass) for extra mutation luck.
Quick answers to the common questions:
- New house? You cannot buy a new house. You can move your whole plot to a different spot from the Settings menu.
- Double storey building? Buy the Second Floor upgrade (1 โ 2 floors) for 250 ๐. That is the only step.
- Greenhouse? The Green House is a Legendary item from the Farmyard worth $1,200, not a building type. It is a display piece.
- Home Carpet? A $20.69 Uncommon Back Alley item that exists for Mike's "Jailbreak Supplies" quest. It does not count toward the Back Alley item index.
What the plot does for progression
The Beginner's Guide loop is Auction โ Loot โ Transport โ Sell โ Progress; the Sell and Progress steps happen on your plot. Money and Diamonds from sales go back into upgrades, staff, plot expansion and other systems.
| Plot feature | What it does |
|---|---|
| Item Listings | List owned items so customers can buy them |
| Auction Displays | Place and show items brought back from auctions |
| My Placed | Decor menu list of every item on your plot, with pick-up for hard-to-reach pieces |
| Customer Offers | Manage offers yourself or let upgraded Staff automate them |
| Gavel Trophy display | Displayed trophies raise the chance of mutated auction items |
| Storage boxes | Extra item storage placed on the plot, up to 15 boxes |
Vehicle capacity limits how many finds you haul back per trip (see vehicles), and Rich shoppers do not haggle.
Plot expansion: all 30 tiles and costs
Plot Expansion is a separate Diamond purchase that grows the buildable area of the plot itself, outside the Upgrades menu. Each tile costs 4 ๐ more than the last, from 5 ๐ for Tile 1 to 121 ๐ for Tile 30. Fully expanding costs 1,890 ๐.
| Tile | Cost (๐) | Tile | Cost (๐) | Tile | Cost (๐) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 5 | 11 | 45 | 21 | 85 |
| 2 | 9 | 12 | 49 | 22 | 89 |
| 3 | 13 | 13 | 53 | 23 | 93 |
| 4 | 17 | 14 | 57 | 24 | 97 |
| 5 | 21 | 15 | 61 | 25 | 101 |
| 6 | 25 | 16 | 65 | 26 | 105 |
| 7 | 29 | 17 | 69 | 27 | 109 |
| 8 | 33 | 18 | 73 | 28 | 113 |
| 9 | 37 | 19 | 77 | 29 | 117 |
| 10 | 41 | 20 | 81 | 30 | 121 |
The first ten tiles together cost 230 ๐.
Plot Capacity, Second Floor and other base upgrades
Plot Expansion gives area; Plot Capacity gives the item count you can place on it. Both cost Diamonds.
| Upgrade | Effect | Maxed value | Total to max (๐) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Plot Capacity | Place more total items on your plot | 1,700 plot items | 2,125 |
| Second Floor | Add a second floor to your shop | 2 floors | 250 |
| Selling Space | Place more shelves for customers | 30 selling slots | 1,350 |
| Storage Box Space | Place more storage boxes on your plot | 15 boxes | 2,095 |
| Trophy Capacity | Place more Gavel Trophies | 3 trophies | 140 |
Plot Capacity starts at 550 items and rises in ten steps: 100 ๐, 125 ๐, 150 ๐, then 250 ๐ for each of the last seven, ending at 1,600 โ 1,700. The +50% Plot Item Capacity gamepass (699 Robux) adds 50% on top of whatever Plot Capacity level you have. The +50% Selling Space pass (349 Robux) does the same for shelves, reaching 45 shelf slots with maxed Selling Space. Trophy Capacity costs 45 ๐ (1 โ 2) and 95 ๐ (2 โ 3); the Extra Gavel Trophy pass (449 Robux) allows a fourth trophy at max capacity.
Storage Box Space goes from 2 boxes to 15 in thirteen steps, starting at 10 ๐ and ending at 325 ๐. A Huge mutation on a storage box raises its capacity by 50%; a Tiny one cuts it by 50%. See mutations for the full list.
Placing trophies on your base
Gavel Trophies are the one decoration with a documented effect:
| Rule | Value |
|---|---|
| How to get | Won from auctions (Legendary, $50 base value, All Locations) |
| Effect | Displayed trophies increase the chance of mutations appearing |
| Display limit | 3 trophies, or 4 with the Extra Gavel Trophy gamepass |
| Mutation slots per trophy | Up to 3 |
| Maximum boost per trophy | +250% |
| Stacking | Multiple trophies with the same mutation stack together |
Gavel Loadouts (Luck menu, the "+" next to the Luck stat) save your placed trophy set and swap it back in one tap. Loadout 1 is free, Loadout 2 costs 200 ๐, Loadout 3 costs 300 ๐. Trophies placed in a club Clubhouse only boost their own owner.
To rank trophies, the Gavel Trophy page multiplies each modifier percentage by that mutation's value multiplier: +67% Silver and +123% Gold scores (67 ร 2) + (123 ร 4) = 626. More on safes and trophies.
Decor and furniture you can display
Any owned item can be placed on the plot. A selection of decoration items with their listed base values:
| Item | Base value | Rarity | Where it drops |
|---|---|---|---|
| Home Carpet | $20.69 | Uncommon | Back Alley (quest item) |
| Brick Wall | $40 | Uncommon | Back Alley |
| Rainbow Paintings | $65 | Rare | Back Alley |
| Beach Decoration Lamp | $150 | Uncommon | Lucky Beach |
| Sunset Painting | $600 | Rare | Lucky Beach |
| Atom Decoration | $750 | Epic | Power Plant |
| Green House | $1,200 | Legendary | Farmyard |
| Lighthouse Decoration | $6,100 | Epic | Lucky Beach |
Other trophies (Glass $1,025, Race $1,040, Bloxy $50,000) are collectibles with no documented plot effect. Storage boxes come as Mini ($400), Steel ($2,250) and Luxury ($2,500) from the Cargo Ship, plus the Alien Storage Box ($2,250). Browse all of them on the items page and by area.
Best base layouts and house ideas
Opinion, not game data: the Fandom pages do not record any layout that improves selling speed or luck. What follows is a practical order based on the documented numbers.
- Shelves first. Selling Space is the base stat that lets more items sell at once. Fill every shelf slot before spending on decor.
- Trophies where you can reach them. Put them near your spawn so swapping via My Placed is quick, and save the set as Loadout 1 for free.
- Storage boxes along one edge. Keep them in a block and stop buying box slots once your inventory keeps up.
- Second Floor for a double-storey look. At 250 ๐ it is the cheapest base upgrade on the list.
- Themed decor by area. A Lucky Beach corner (Lighthouse Decoration, Sunset Painting), a Back Alley wall (Brick Wall, Wall Lamp) or a Farmyard patch around the Green House. Anything you place can be picked back up through My Placed and sold later (whether placed items keep their value is community-reported, unconfirmed).
- Move the plot if the spot is bad. Relocation is done from the Settings menu; no cost is documented.
Whether layout affects customer walk paths or offer speed is not documented yet. Advertising (+50% faster offers) and Price Tags (+10% offers) are the documented ways to speed up sales, not furniture placement.
Priorities for Diamonds on the base
Maxing everything on this page (Plot Expansion, Plot Capacity, Storage Box Space, Selling Space, Second Floor, Trophy Capacity, two extra Gavel Loadouts) totals 8,350 ๐ before Staff or other upgrades. The Beginner's Guide advice applies: upgrade capacity only when inventory, selling space or plot space slows you down. For Diamonds, check codes (no working codes existed as of August 2026) and the Diamond Safe guide; the overall order is in the guide.
