How to Get Rich Fast in Storage Hunters: Shop & Upgrades
Updated 2026-09-02 · Roblox Storage Hunters: Open World
The fastest way to make money in Storage Hunters: Open World is the loop the Beginner's Guide spells out: win auctions, carry the loot back, sell it from your Player Shop, then spend Diamonds on the upgrades that make the next cycle bigger. The wiki's own tip is blunt: "Auctions are almost never a losing deal, bid with confidence", and high-bid lots are described as guaranteed high-value loot. Getting rich fast means more shelves, faster offers, better item values (mutations, grading, cleaning), and a Shop Assistant so sales continue while you bid.
Quick answers to the common questions:
- What does the Shop Assistant do? It handles customer offers automatically using an auto-accept threshold you set between -50% and +200% of fair value. Hiring one costs 100 Diamonds. Whether assistants can stock shelves is not documented on the wiki; the only documented role is offer handling.
- How do I get more selling space? The Selling Space upgrade takes you from 4 to 30 shelf slots for 1,350 Diamonds total; the +50% Selling Space gamepass (349 Robux) raises a maxed shop to 45 slots.
- Where are the stores? All six are in the Shopping Mall; see the table below.
- "Restore The Plant: Tier 1" is the Engineer's quest in the Power Plant, not a shop feature.
How selling works
Money is the primary currency, earned mainly by selling items to customers at the Player Shop and spent on vehicles, wrenches, auction perks and winning bids. Diamonds are separate: they come from customer tips, diamond safes and vaults, quests and collections, and they pay for every permanent upgrade.
| Player Shop feature | What it does |
|---|---|
| Item Listings | List owned items so customers can buy them |
| Auction Displays | Place and display items brought back from auctions |
| My Placed | See every item placed on your plot from the Decor menu and pick any of it back up to sell |
| Customer Offers | Accept or reject offers yourself, or let upgraded Staff automate it |
Customers can offer below or above fair value, so the Beginner's Guide tells you not to accept everything instantly. Two documented details matter for profit:
- Rich shoppers do not haggle. Their offer is final, so think before rejecting one.
- Mint items always tip a Diamond on sale, and that tip does not count toward the 65 Diamonds-per-hour soft cap on regular NPC and Celebrity tips.
What the Shop Assistant does
Staff is the shop automation system. Right now the only staff member is the Shop Assistant, hired for 100 Diamonds and toggled Active or Paused from the staff menu. When active it accepts customer offers that meet your Auto-Accept Threshold (adjustable from -50% to +200%). Setting it too low sells cheap; setting it too high turns away more customers.
| Assistant upgrade | Max level | Maxed effect | Cost per level (1 to 5) | Total to max |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Negotiating | 5/5 | +25% counteroffer chance | 15 / 20 / 25 / 30 / 35 Diamonds | 125 Diamonds |
| Walk Speed | 5/5 | Speed 18 | 5 / 5 / 5 / 10 / 10 Diamonds | 35 Diamonds |
Shop upgrades and what they cost
All shop upgrades are permanent and bought with Diamonds. The list below uses the confirmed totals from the Upgrades page.
| Upgrade | Effect | Maxed stat | Total Diamonds to max |
|---|---|---|---|
| Inventory Space | Carry more items | 75 inventory slots | 1,205 |
| Selling Space | Place more shelves | 30 selling slots | 1,350 |
| Advertising | Faster offers | +50% faster offers | 610 |
| Tip Jar | Customers leave Diamond tips | 6% tip chance | 425 |
| Price Tags | Customers start closer to fair value | Offers improve by +10% | 145 |
| Trophy Capacity | Place more Gavel Trophies for stacked luck | Up to 3 trophies | 140 |
| Storage Box Space | More storage boxes on the plot | Up to 15 boxes | 2,095 |
| Plot Capacity | More total items on the plot | 1,700 plot items | 2,125 |
| Second Floor | Adds a second shop floor | 2 floors | 250 |
| Celebrity Customers | Celebrity shoppers who pay big and tip huge | 66.7% celebrity visit rate | 825 |
Early steps are cheap: Selling Space goes 4 to 6 for 10 Diamonds, 6 to 8 for 20, 8 to 10 for 30. Inventory Space goes 10 to 15 for 5 Diamonds and 15 to 20 for 10. Price Tags costs 45 Diamonds for the first +5% and 100 for the second.
Plot Expansion is a separate Diamond system that grows the buildable area of your plot: tile 1 costs 5 Diamonds, each tile costs 4 more than the last, and all 30 tiles cost 1,890 Diamonds in total.
Gamepasses stack on top: +50% Inventory Storage gives 112 slots with a maxed upgrade, +50% Selling Space gives 45 shelf slots, the Celebrity Gamepass (479 Robux) pushes the celebrity visit rate to 100%, and Quick Sell from Inventory (249 Robux) adds a sell button inside your inventory.
Stores in the Shopping Mall
The Shopping Mall is a service hub with no auctions. Module:StoreData lists exactly six stores.
| Store | What it does | Key numbers |
|---|---|---|
| Grading Store | Rolls a star grade that changes item value | Replica 85%, 1 Star 105%, 2 Star 135%, 3 Star 200%; odds 22% / 38% / 35% / 5% |
| Wash Shop | Removes the Dirty mutation (0.8x) and can add Pure, Spotless or Perfect | Pure 1.5x, Spotless 2.5x, Perfect 7.5x (Perfect is a Luck-based roll from washing Mint items) |
| Repair Store | Sells wrenches that fix damaged items | Basic $75 (up to $500), Steel $750 (up to $5,000), Precision $10,000 (up to $35,000), Master $100,000 (any value) |
| Locksmith | Opens safes, sells lockpicks | Basic $250, Steel $1,000, Precision $15,000, Master $150,000 |
| Quick Sell | Rick Harrison buys items straight from your backpack at a random rate | Rate refreshes every 5 minutes |
| Energy Cafe | Luck drinks bought with Diamonds or Robux; Diamond stock rotates on the same cycle as Quick Sell | +50% Luck for 12 Diamonds, +150% for 25, +300% for 65 |
Grading, cleaning and the Locksmith each have three slots: slot 1 is free, slot 2 costs 50 Diamonds and $10,000 net worth, slot 3 costs 150 Diamonds and $50,000 net worth. Grading and cleaning change an item's sale value only, not its stats.
How to get rich fast: a route from the Beginner's Guide
The Beginner's Guide lists five Early Progression Priorities. Put in order with the numbers above, they become a route:
- Learn auction timing. Press Bid while the marker is in the target zone (usually green). Start with low net worth garages and move up; the Calculator perk shows the estimated value inside, X-Ray Vision reveals crate contents, Kick removes one NPC bidder. Perks come from quests or the shop for Diamonds.
- Increase carrying and selling capacity first. The first Inventory Space and Selling Space steps cost 5 and 10 Diamonds. More shelves means more sales running at once; more inventory means fewer trips.
- Spend Diamonds carefully, but spend them. The wiki warns that players who hoard Diamonds "may progress much more slowly". Price Tags (145 to max) and early Advertising (20 Diamonds for +10%) raise income directly; Tip Jar and Celebrity Customers feed Diamonds back.
- Check item values before selling. Base values are on the items list. Final price = base value x markup x mutation x condition x grade. Items with a mutated base value of $1,000 or more never drop below 60% at 0% condition (cheaper items can fall further), so a wrench on a high-value find can pay for itself; a 2 Star grade (1.35x) lifts a 70% condition $400 item to $441.18. The big multipliers are mutations: Gold 4x, Corrupted 6x, Diamond 8x, Gem 10x, Chrome 12x, Hologram 15x, Void 35x, Secret 50x, Rainbow 100x.
- Watch for quests. They reward money, perks and items; completing quests and collections also gives Diamonds.
Two more documented boosts: every friend in your server gives +5% Luck, and net worth milestones at $10,000, $300,000, $400,000, $500,000 and $600,000 each add a permanent +5% Luck (further +5% steps come at $50M, $75M and $100M). Net worth is not cash on hand; spending money does not lower it the way earning raises it, so a bigger vehicle for hauling more loot does not set unlocks back. Selling a vehicle back returns only 30% of its price.
